Ford Tough

Back in 2021 I purchased a
1994 Ford Escort LX Hatchback.

It came with a 5 speed manual 
transmission and 1st gear went
out in a week which is why I 
got it for $800

I called around and found a
transmission specialist that 
informed me when 2nd gear goes 
out just park it and walk away.

Its a junker he said.

So ive got a parts car i retorted,
No he said ...all the parts cars
are parked,youre driving the last
94 ford escort on the planet.

I was informed that the parts to 
fix the trans are scarce at best and
if I had the money just buy a
newer car with lower miles.

That was a bit over 2 years ago
and the trans is holding up fine.

The green bean as I call it has 
surprised me still and it keeps
running,i mean its tough.

Im going to save for a clutch job
so about $1500 for that and I need
to use a half bottle of injector cleaner
every other tank cuz it hesitates at 
times and with gas so low I now use
premium to get 90 octane.

Using premium gives it 38 miles to
the gallon and it has more voom.

Personally I think Ford has a winner
here and I will drive it til second
gear gives out.

When the say Ford Tough they mean it.
